Links to other suppliers

I'm well aware that sourcing the chassis for my kits is not as easy as popping down to your local model shop as they are a bit of a specialised product. However I can personally recommend these suppliers who offer mail order.

Kato 11-104

Tsugawa TU-DEKI 1

I should add a note of caution; despite a period of running in and the addition of weight to the completed kit the Tsugawa chassis I have used for the test build cannot in all fairness be described as smooth and slow running. This would seem to be borne out by the experience of others. It would seem to be ok for a novelty item, but not for a mainstay of one's roster. Others have suggest the use of a Kato Portram, I am building a second example with a simple free wheeling chassis to use in conjunction with a powered van.

When it comes to kits in 009/HOe I'm not the only game in town. If you enjoy or are intrigued by the sort of stuff I produce then I'm fairly sure that you'll also like these:

Narrow Planet

Started with a range of exquisite etched plates with a narrow gauge twist, now an expanding collective of kit producers. They are committed enthusiasts and it shows in the choice of products and the standards they achieve.

A one man band who produces a useful range of kits and bits for the 4mm narrow gauge model maker. Not afraid to visit the more unusual.

I enjoy the business of sifting and sorting through potential candidates for new kits. Though I do use the internet I particularly enjoy browsing books in search of prototypes which have that hard to define character that makes an attractive model.

Nick's Railway Stuff

Second hand books and railway memorabilia, the source of much of my research material. Well worth a poke about the website to see what new items have landed.

Titfield Thunderbolt

Specialist railway and transport bookshop, run by an enthusiast for enthusiasts. Fabulously comprehensive stock of new railway titles.
